Day wise itinerary
Arrive at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, Leh. Transfer to the hotel and check in. The first day is reserved for complete rest and acclimatization to the high altitude. Overnight stay in Leh.
After breakfast, focus on acclimatization. You may visit Leh Palace, nearby monasteries, and explore the local market. A leisurely walk through the town helps in gradual adjustment to altitude. Overnight stay in Leh.
Drive from Leh to the entry point of Hemis National Park. From here, walk approximately 2 km to reach Rumbak Valley base camp. Settle into the campsite and prepare for the tracking program. Overnight at the campsite.
Early morning scouting with the expert spotter. Proceed to Tarbung Valley and spend the day scanning ridges and slopes for signs of snow leopard movement. Lunch and refreshments will be served on site. Return to camp by evening.
Trek to Husing Point, a steep but manageable ascent. From the top, scan the surrounding valleys for wildlife activity. Return to the campsite by early evening. Overnight at the campsite.
Trek to Rumbak viewpoint, passing through bird rich areas. Visit Rumbak village en route. Enjoy panoramic views of the Stok Range and look out for blue sheep and other wildlife. Return to camp by evening.
Depending on weather conditions and fresh track marks, the day’s plan will be decided by the guide. You may move to a new valley or stay at a selected viewpoint for extended observation. Overnight at the campsite.
Another full day dedicated to tracking and wildlife observation based on the guide’s assessment of movement and signs. Overnight at the campsite.
Continue tracking till evening. After the final observation session, drive back to the hotel in Leh. Overnight stay in Leh.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Leh Airport for your onward journey with unforgettable memories of the Snow Leopard Trail.
