About the Yatra
The Panch Badri Yatra is a revered pilgrimage that covers the five sacred temples of Lord Vishnu located in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. These temples Badrinath, Yogadhyan Badri, Bhavishya Badri, Vriddha Badri, and Adi Badri together form the complete Badri Kshetra and hold immense importance in Hindu mythology and Vaishnav tradition.
This spiritually enriching journey takes pilgrims through ancient temples, sacred river confluences, remote Himalayan villages, and breathtaking mountain landscapes. Along the way, devotees experience not only darshan at the holy shrines but also the deep cultural and spiritual heritage of the region. Day Wise Itinerary
Arrival at Haridwar Railway Station or Dehradun Airport followed by transfer to the hotel. After check in, time to rest after the journey. In the evening, visit Har Ki Pauri to witness the sacred Ganga Aarti, a deeply moving spiritual experience where thousands of lamps are offered to the holy river. Spend some time exploring the nearby ghats and local markets, absorbing the spiritual energy of this ancient pilgrimage town.
Overnight stay in Haridwar.
Early morning drive towards Joshimath through the scenic Garhwal Himalayas. Enroute visit Devprayag, the holy confluence where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet to form the Ganga. Continue the journey via Rudraprayag and Karnaprayag, witnessing dramatic river valleys, forested hills, and traditional mountain towns along the Alaknanda River.Arrive at Joshimath by evening and check in to the hotel. The rest of the evening is kept free for relaxation and acclimatization to the altitude.
Overnight stay in Joshimath.
After breakfast, drive to the sacred town of Badrinath, one of the most important Char Dham shrines. Upon arrival, take a holy dip at Tapt Kund, the natural hot water spring believed to purify the body and soul. Proceed for darshan at Shri Badrinath Temple.Later, visit Mana Village, the last Indian village near the Indo Tibetan border. Explore Vyas Gufa, believed to be the place where Sage Ved Vyasa composed the Mahabharata, Mata Murti Temple, and Bhim Pul, a natural stone bridge over the Saraswati River. In the evening, attend the divine aarti at Badrinath Temple.
Overnight stay in Badrinath.
The morning is reserved for performing important rituals and Pind Daan at Brahma Kapal near the Badrinath Temple, a sacred site for ancestral rites. After completing the rituals, begin the drive back towards Joshimath.Enroute visit Yogadhyan Badri at Pandukeshwar, where Lord Vishnu is worshipped in a meditative posture. Continue to Vishnuprayag, the sacred confluence of the Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers, one of the Panch Prayags of Uttarakhand. Arrive at Joshimath and check in to the hotel.
Overnight stay in Joshimath.
After breakfast, drive towards Saldhar village, from where a short trek leads to Bhavishya Badri Temple. This shrine is believed to be the future seat of Lord Vishnu, where worship will continue when Badrinath becomes inaccessible according to legend.After darshan, return and proceed by road to Animath village to visit Vriddha Badri Temple, where Lord Vishnu is worshipped in his old form. After completing darshan at both shrines, drive back to Joshimath by evening.

Morning drive towards Adi Badri Temple complex near Karnaprayag. Adi Badri is believed to be the oldest among the Badri shrines and consists of a group of ancient temples dating back to the Gupta period. Spend time exploring the temple complex and understanding its historical and spiritual significance.After darshan, continue the drive to Rudraprayag, the sacred confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. In the evening, visit the sangam and nearby temples.
Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.
After breakfast, drive towards Devprayag. Visit the holy confluence where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers merge to officially form the Ganga. Spend some time at the sangam and nearby temples before continuing the journey to Dehradun.Arrival at Dehradun Airport or Haridwar Railway Station by evening for onward journey.
